In the Netherlands, 1 on 4 young people grow up in a family where someone needs care. That has a big impact on their lives. They often feel lonely and misunderstood. That’s why Shapers developed an educational package for young people in the age of 14 to 18 years old to open up the conversation.
Within this project I was responsible for the concept, game design and (simple) graphic design. I used the following percentage of my skills (at that time).
concepting
game design
graphic design
The package starts with a real eye opener, a playful and interactive theater experience to explore the theme.
In small groups, every player crawls in the role of caretaker, caregiver or friend of the caregiver. Recognizable dilemmas are presented and discussed. The choices have consequences for every player. The goal of the game is to finish together, so this is only achievable by working together.
Finally, under the guidance of a teacher or care professional, the players reflect on their role in the game.
I hope you like my creative work. If you do, maybe we can create something even better together? Please say hello!
